During the past few weeks at Chess Club we have played some serious competitions but only against ourselves. We have been doing this because on 6th March there is going to be a competition for chess but is a school team event.
The other Sunday we played in a tournament. This time it was an independent event.
We played really well in this chess competion and two of Fairlop's children have gone through to the next round. This was a tremendous acheivement.
Keep an eye on this Blog for regular updates!

Chess Club - Monday after school
At Fairlop, we have a Chess club, run by our school governor Mr Harding, or we can call him Richard.
We have to learn the chess rules - there are 10 of them and one is that if you touch one of the pieces on the board you have to make a move.
Richard gives us a pep talk every week before we start playing, and then he gives us help and tips to improve our game.
Chess club is on Monday evenings after school if you would like to join.
