ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER PLAYED

This game was played in Paris during 1858. Between the American chess champion Paul Morphy and a Duke and a Count.
It was played at the Opera and Morphy had is back to the stage while the Opera was in progress.

REDBRIDGE SCHOOLS TEAM TOURNAMENT 2009

The first stage of the 2009 Redbridge chess team tournament took place on Thursday 26th March at Fairlop School.

In round 1 Fairlop narrowly lost to john Bramston 2-3.
Shagilans game was the last to finish with the score at 2-2,he had chances to draw right up to the end but Jamie from John Bramston was to strong in the endgame.

Fairlop got back to winning ways in round 2 by beating Redbridge 3-2 in a close and exciting match.

Fairlop goes into stage 2 with 5 points and in 3rd place out of 6 teams,behind John Bramston on 7.5 points and tournament leaders Newbury Park on 8.5 points.

Shagilan,Nilaa,Hareshaa,Menan and Vinosha made up the Fairlop team, well done to them, they played some very good chess.

The second stage of the tournament will be held at Newbury Park School in May.
